You must hold a current valid licence (either provisional or full) which must be produced on the first lesson. You must also be able to read a number plate from a distance 20.5 metres (67 feet) using your glasses if normally worn. Your driving license needs to be kept safe and it is the pupils responsibility to bring the plastic card and the paper counterpart to both the theory test and practical test, along with any other required paperwork that the driving standards agency requires.
Payments and who teaches you
Lesson payments should be made at the beginning or end of each lesson. Our franchised instructor's accept Cash and personal cheques made out to the instructors name. Where an intensive or semi intensive course is booked a 50% deposit will be required at least one week prior to the beginning of the course. This is a non-refundable deposit save exceptional circumstances, where a refund is at the discretion of the instructor. Where the instructor in unable to undertake the course for whatever reason then a full refund will be given. The balance of the course cost should be paid to the instructor on the first driving lesson. You will be taught by a self employed driving instructor who is franchised to learn more driving school. All payments and the teaching contract are between the individual driving instructor, who is regulated by any industry code of conduct and who licensed by the driving standards agency, to teach people to drive, and the pupil. Learn more driving schools "booking office" does not handle money on behalf of driving instructors as all instructors are franchised on behalf of the school on a self-employed basis. Any payments made to the school online are transferred immediately to the instructor who is allocated to teach the learner. The booking office does not have records of lesson payments between pupils and the instructors. It is each driving instructor's responsibility to manage his / her business practices correctly, and if that is ever less than satisfactory, we will use all our powers to resolve any dispute. All lesson payments and therefore any unlikely discrepancies are between the instructor and pupil. Learn more driving schools booking office does not handle pupils money or keep track of lessons. It is the driving instructors and pupils responsibility to keep track of all lesson payments and we 'the school' provide stationary for instructors to keep track with the pupil. In the event of any discrepancies or issues we 'the school' will endeavour to negotiate with the instructor for an amicable resolution to all issues, however final responsibility with all issues regarding lesson payment and organisation is between the instructor and pupil.
Lesson Cancellation
You will need to give a minimum of 48 hours notice should you need to cancel a lesson. Any lessons cancelled within this period must be paid for in full before any further lessons will be booked.
Use of the vehicle
In the interest of yours and the public's safety, we reserve the right to withdraw the use of the training car for the driving test, if in our opinion, your driving is potentially or actually dangerous.
Punctuality
After arriving at your nominated pick up point for your lesson but there is no reply at the address in question, we will wait approximately 15 minutes. If after 15 minutes, you have not made contact or we are unable to reach you, the lesson will be abandoned and you will be required to pay for the lesson(s) in question.
Test
-Tests, although paid for by the candidate are not guaranteed at the end of hours booked. If the standard of driving REQUIRED BY THE INSTRUCTOR for the practical test has not been reached, extra hours will need to be booked, paid for and instruction given before the candidate is taken for test. (Instructors discretion)
-If your instructor is too ill or the vehicle has broken down and cannot attend your driving test we will try and assign you a new instructor and car so that the DSA test fee is not lost. We will refund the test fee if you cannot find another instructor to take you on your test.
-The school/instructor cannot be held responsible for tests cancelled by the DSA for any reason. The cost of the time that the escorting instructor has agreed with you will have to be met by the pupil in the unlikely event that a test is cancelled by the DSA.
Refunds
- If your driving instructor becomes too ill or unable to continue the training or has a broken down vehicle for example and you wish to change instructor, wherever possible another vehicle / Driving instructor will be arranged for you and your current instructor will refund your outstanding lesson payments. If no vehicle / instructor is available the driving instructor who you paid will refund all monies outstanding within 7 days of the last lesson.
